Paintings in the Post #902 Sunflower
Mother Nature is a wonderful teacher…
Did you know that sunflowers always turn their heads towards the sun and grow towards the light? A friend told me the other day that in the sunflower fields when there is no sun they turn to face and grow towards one another. WOW! We can learn a lot from sunflowers!
This week I got out of my studio and painted in the garden in the beautiful winter sunshine. It’s been ages since me a my paintbox have traveled anywhere so getting out of the studio to paint felt glorious. I wanted to document my beautiful sunflowers but didn’t want to cut them. We have so many bees hard at work every day on them and it’s been a delight to watch them. I’m definitely going to ‘bee more mindful’ when planting in Spring. I’ve loved seeing just how many bees they have attracted. If you look really closely you may be able to spot a hidden little surprise of the buzzing kind added to the painting…can you spot it?
